A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Blast away zombies and monsters like it's 1996 again in this faithful pixel-styled recreation of the first game in The House of the Dead series. All four levels, along with their memorable bosses, are present with a new/old coat of paint.

=============================================================

How to Play:

Move: Arrow keys

Shoot/Confirm/Continue: Space

Reload: R

Strafe: Hold Shift key

=============================================================

This game is still in development, but can be played from title screen to end credits.

What still needs to be done:

  • Sound effect fixes (a number of audio clips have silence at the beginning and end, creating a delay in playback)
  • Tilemap assets (some rooms are made up of solid-color placeholders)
  • Cutscene adjustments (character sprite "acting", some cutscenes may be replaced by scenes made up of the original game's screenshots)
  • Animations
  • Font changes (still using Arial)
  • "Fancier" pause and continue screens
  • Controller support
  • Code refactoring
  • Bug exterminating

I am currently not on Twitter, but if I decide to make one, it will be posted here. Until then, updates will be on the Dev Log.

Very cool, demake liked it a lot and had a lot of fun with it. The only problem I had is the game skipped me through the first level and just popped me at the end. Other than that, loved the game!
